The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood is the second book in her Rule Breakers series. It is a standalone romance told in dual POV between the two main characters. Zoey is the best friend and roommate of Lainey who you may remember from book one, The Rule Book. Ryder is Zoey's one night stand from that same book and he is back in her life in the most inopportune way, at least for Zoey, at least according to her "rules".
Sweet and sassy, the back and forth between these two is funny and tension-inducing all at the same time. Zoey worries that Ryder will break her heart AND ruin her fledgling career. Ryder isn't sure why but Zoey is nothing like any other girl he has ever been with. He begins to pursue her despite his own "no repeat" lifestyle.
Enjoyable, sweet and well-written - Light on the steam but high on the emotions. Enjoy!
